A.RICHARD COOK,PhD

Rick Cook is a therapist who works in an eclectic style, using techniques from several theraputic modes depending on the specifics of the problem. He is also trained in classic cognitive behavioral therapy. He did his undergraduate studies at Claremont McKenna College, before completing his studies for a Masters Degree and PhD in Psychology at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. Rick also enjoys being very involved with his church, music, theatre, and exercising.

MARY LADD HEBERT, MSW, ACSW, LCSW

Mary Ladd Hebert is a therapist who specializes in Individual and Marital Therapy.  She has practiced in Winston Salem for the past 20 years. She earned her Masters in Social Work degree from UNC Chapel Hill. Mary Ladd also has completed postgraduate training under internationally known clinicians in the areas of anxiety, depression, and marital and relationship therapy. She is married and has one teenaged son, two adult step children,and two grandchildren. 

JUNE RYAN, MSW, ACSW

June Ryan is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has practiced in both inpatientand outpatient settings since 1970. She has been at New Directions since 1991. She sees a wide variety of people with psychiatric disorders, and has specialized in post-traumatic stress disorders. She is currently accepting adult patients diagnosed withAttention Deficit/Hyperactive Disorders for a 6-12 week structured therapy program. June did her undergraduate work at Duke University and received her Masters inSocial Work from UNC-CH. She is married and has two children, two step-children, and eight grandchildren.

TEVEN HARMON-TOWNSEND,MSW,LCSW

Teven  Harmon-Townsend began her career in biology and pharmacology. After her two sons  were in school and  Teven returned to the workforce, her interests had changed. She earned  a second Masters Degree in Social Work at the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. For the past 20 years she has worked in a variety of settings including the classroom, the Children’s Home, Hospice, and most recently leading the In Home Services Team in Davie County. Tevin has now joined our practice to specialize in therapy with adults, children, teens, and families.
